The Verdict

Giving players the flexibility of tackling missions either with an offensive or stealth oriented strategy, Future Soldier sure brings some fresh air into the shooter genre. While playing the game on single player with fairly competent A.I. teammembers offers you an okay to good experience, the game's true potential shines through co-op and multiplayer.
However, obvious troubles during development and countless delays are noticable in the final product: Future Soldier quickly runs out of ideas and things to keep the gameplay exciting. After only a few missions, the player already saw every game mechanic it has to offer, making many following missions feel repetetive.
Along with that, a very weak story, badly written characters and inconsistent visuals hamper the fun quite a bit.
Still, fans of the franchise probably won't be disappointed, while interested gamers should at least give this game a try, especially if they have a buddy to play co-op with.

Final Verdict: 7 out of 10
