Back to the Wasteland: Fallout 4 Officially Announced!

The wait is finally over - today, Fallout 4 was officially announced by Bethesda Softworks with a first reveal trailer.
This time set in Boston, Fallout 4's first trailer perfectly aligns with its predecessor's reveal trailers by starting off with a 1950s lullaby tune from a radio and then largely focussing on the different landscapes of the wastelands.
Fallout 4 sceneries and locations obviously come off as a very nice blend between both worlds of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. While the vibrant Noir style in Boston's post-apocalyptic city and the lifeless desert landscapes remind heavily of the world of New Vegas, the wrecked remains of 50s suburban houses along with Dogmeat roaming through the streets remind of Fallout 3.
But what's most apparent is the huge graphical leap of the game thanks to the power of next-gen consoles. While not directly on par with the top of the cream like The Order: 1886, the graphics are still very impressive. Especially the highly improved lighting, textures and animation definitely make the world of Fallout even more exciting to explore than before. Hopefully, this also means that framerate issues, freezes, corrupted save files and other bugs are also a thing of the past.

While no specific release date has been given as of now, be sure to check out Bethesda's press conference at this year's E3 on June 14th at 7:00pm PT to see the world premiere of the game.
Fallout 4 will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
