Matt Damon Will Science The S#!T out of Mars

The first trailer for Ridley Scott's new movie The Martian, based on the novel of the same name, has been released.
Looking artistically very much like a hybrid of Apollo 13, Mission to Mars and Cast Away, the first trailer for The Martian is a prime example of a well constructed trailer that knows how to build up tension.
Being the last survivor of an expedition team sent to Mars, The Martian tells Mark Watney's aka Matt Damon's struggle to survive on the lifeless red surface of said planet.
Only left with a few food rations, tools and gadgets, it's quite interesting to find out how Damon will manage to survive on Mars, having to grow "4 years of food on a planet where basically nothing grows".
On the other side we got a simultaneously unraveled plot on Earth with a small NASA team still believing that he is alive and that they can save him. The element of "racing against time" is very well emphasized and put together through Matt's struggle to survive while the rescue team rushes to his rescue as fast as they can.

Here's hoping The Martian can keep this well constructed drama in the final movie when it releases on November 25, 2015.
