Jared Leto is Gonna Hurt You Really, Really Bad

After the recent leak of the Suicide Squad Comic Con trailer, Warner Bros. pretty much gave up keeping it secret and just thought "Well, since most people already saw it, they might as well just see it in high def" - and here we go.
The first Suicide Squad trailer has been officially released and gives us a good look at each of the squad's members.
While Will Smith certainly still very much comes off as "the good guy" of the group (fittingly, because Will Smith pretty much only plays good guys in his movies), and characters like Killer Croc actually don't look as bad as previously thought, it's Harley Quinn who gets the most screen time in the trailer. Accompanied by a creepy song to underline the Joker's appearance ("the joke's one me"), the trailer shows us footage of a variety of scenes: Harley Quinn's breakout, the squad in battle- and heist action, Batman chasing Joker in his car, and more. It's all just tiny short snippets put together back to back but they deliver an overall good first look at what's to come.
Of course, the trailer ends with Jared Leto as the Joker, presenting his trademark laugh and promising someone (presumably Harley Quinn before getting tortured) "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm just gonna hurt you really, really bad". Apparently still mostly oriented on the performance of Heath Ledger's Joker, Leto nevertheless seems to put his own stamp and interpretation on the Joker. But there's still much more we need to see of his performance to get a better impression.

Ultimately, as already said, the Comic Con trailer is a great first look at what is possibly the most interesting upcoming DC comic movie yet. As much as there is that has been leaked and that we already saw, there's just as much that we don't know about Suicide Squad.
But let's hope we get more intel on that until Suicide Squad is released on August 5, 2016.
