It's a Clash of the Gods with the First Gods of Egypt Trailer

The first trailer for the 2016 adventure flick Gods of Egypt got released.

Working very much with a stereotypical "hero returns" plot, Gods of Egypt stars Gerard Butler as Set and Nikolaj-Coster Waldau as Horus, two gods pitted against each other. When protagonist god Horus though loses to Set, it's up to young boy Bek to unite with the fallen god to reclaim his thrown and end Set's reign.
Right from the get-go it becomes very clear that Gods of Egypt seems to be a very style over substance kind of movie. Obviously relying on CGI-heavy money shots with loads of action scenes and huge monsters, it looks like your typical Hollywood blockbuster - or to be exact, it looks like Clash of the Titans set in Egypt.
With major set-piece after set-piece being shown off in the trailer, Gods of Egypt most probably is going to be a non-stop CGI action extravaganza and little more, seeing how the acting as well as comedy leave quite a bit to be desired.
However, for what it's worth, it looks like mindless CGI-action fun.

Whether there's more to Gods of Egypt than that, remains to be seen when it hits theaters on February 26, 2016.
